Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is the world’s largest producer of ‘premium aluminium’ and the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside the oil and gas sector. Established in 2013 through the merger of Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and Emirates Aluminium (EMAL), EGA operates aluminium smelters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, an alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi, and a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea. The company is jointly owned by Mubadala Investment Company of Abu Dhabi and the Investment Corporation of Dubai. EGA’s aluminium is the largest made-in-the-UAE export after oil and gas, and it produces approximately 4% of the world’s aluminium. The company employs over 7,000 people worldwide and serves customers in more than 50 countries.
